We’re building a movement to change how parents are cared for—so no parent faces perinatal mental illness in silence and no family is left behind.
Be Heard. Join the Herd.
Be Heard. Join the Herd.
Our Mission
The Heard Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and community-powered movement reimagining perinatal mental health care and creating Massachusetts’ first dedicated treatment center.
Inspired by Cora Clancy’s nightly prayer—“Thank you for a beautiful day in the neighborhood”—and guided by the belief that love always wins, we work to break stigma, expand access to care, and build a year-round culture of kindness where every parent is heard and every family has a herd.
Our Story
On January 24, 2023, Patrick Clancy’s life changed forever when his three children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—were lost to postpartum psychosis. What followed was unimaginable grief, but also a profound conviction: their memory must live on, and no family should ever face this kind of heartbreak again.
To honor their lives, Pat and his sisters, Erin Donahue and Laura Sullivan, founded the Heard Foundation. What began as a family’s promise has become a growing movement—one dedicated to supporting families navigating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) and transforming the way parents are cared for.
Born from love and carried by community, Heard is committed to breaking stigma, expanding access to care, and building spaces of healing so that no parent ever walks this path alone.

Our Vision
We see a future where every parent is heard and every family finds a herd of support.
Our work grows in two strands: working toward establishing Massachusetts’ first dedicated perinatal mental health center—a groundbreaking, home-like facility that will set a new standard of care—and leading a community movement that spreads kindness and love, inspiring everyday acts of support in neighborhoods everywhere.
